Yesterday you created your ACX account, and today we’re going to add some information to your ACX profile that will help you stand out in the eyes of authors and publishers.

I know that some people find this part a little bit intimidating, especially if they are just getting started and feel like they don’t have any experience. Keep in mind that everyone has to start somewhere. Even the most experienced, award winning narrators started at ground zero.

Also, there are a lot of self-published authors on ACX who are more than happy to work with new narrators in order to get their book into Audible.

This industry focuses a lot more on your voice than how much experience you have. Obviously, you will get better the more you practice and with each book that you do, but authors and publishers generally choose narrators based on the sound of their voice and on how well they perform the audition, and usually place less emphasis on how many books they've done.

If you make a true effort to fill out your ACX narrator profile, you shouldn’t have a problem getting authors and publishers to give serious consideration to your audition.
